Martin is Managing Director of Insight Retail Consulting, which provides professional consulting services to retail, leisure and hospitality sectors.

He is currently using his expertise primarily in acquiring property for occupation by a range of both domestic and international clients. His team also run mystery shopping programmes as an adjunct to more comprehensive management consultancy advice. Martin has worked with fledgling businesses, helping them develop their sales and marketing programme as well as offering ongoing support for business strategy as a whole. Oil & Vinegar, Murphy & Nye and Sixty Active have all worked closely with Martin over the past few years. Historically, Martin has worked with a number of both UK and international companies, giving business development advice, primarily focussed on the property element of the organisations.

European & New Territories Development Director for STER-CENTURY (STER-KINEKOR)

Whilst working for an international leisure company, Ster Century Cinemas, Martin was responsible for the instigation and implementation of development of business and strategies for Europe through site acquisition or the creation of joint venture relationships or the purchase of existing complementary businesses. He reported directly to the main board in South Africa and acted as project co-ordinator for all professional teams involved. He achieved the opening of 27 cinemas across 10 countries in Europe, all within the financial budgets set.

Senior Retail Development Surveyor (Associate Designate) of ALDER KING

During his time at a major commercial real estate agency he was senior retail development surveyor and was a key part of the retail development team. He handled all aspects of retail and leisure development, instigated development work, and acted as project manager in co-ordinating external teams and marketing. He was also responsible to developer clients for site identification, handling legal negotiations and advising them in their overall business strategy.

Retail/Investment Surveyor MICHAEL TESTLER & CO

Earlier in his career, Martin was a retail/investment surveyor and was primarily required to manage, acquire and dispose of property on behalf of national based retailers. He also developed the firm's exposure to the High Street Investment sector and Out of Town Development.
